Sign Up and Set Up

eAuditor Audits & Inspections

• Download the eAuditor Audits & Inspections app or access it via a web browser.
• Sign up for an account or log in if you already have one.

Create a New Template or Use Existing Template

• Go to the “Templates” section.
• Click on “Create Template” or “+ New Template.”
• Name your checklist (e.g., “Solar Site Survey Checklist”).

• Surveyor Name

  Record the name of the person conducting the survey.

• Weather Conditions

  Note weather conditions (e.g., sunny, cloudy, rainy).

Structural Assessment

• Roof Material

  Identify the type of roof (e.g., asphalt shingles, metal, tile).

• Roof Age and Condition

  Assess the age and overall condition of the roof.

• Structural Integrity

  Evaluate the structure for any signs of damage or weakness.

• Roof Slope and Orientation

  Record the slope (pitch) and compass orientation (azimuth) of the roof.

• Available Roof Space

  Measure and record available space for panels.

Electrical Assessment

• Main Service Panel Location

  Identify the location of the main electrical service panel.

• Panel Capacity

  Note the capacity of the service panel (e.g., 200A).

• Spare Breakers Available

  Check for available breaker slots in the panel.

• Distance from Inverter Location to Main Panel

  Measure and record the distance.

• Existing Electrical Equipment

  List any existing equipment that might affect the installation.

Shading Analysis

• Obstructions

  Identify any obstructions (e.g., trees, chimneys, nearby buildings).

• Shading Analysis Tool Used

  Record the tool used for shading analysis (e.g., Solar Pathfinder, Solmetric SunEye).

• Solar Window

  Evaluate the solar window for each proposed array location.

• Annual Sunlight Exposure

  Estimate the annual sunlight exposure (e.g., full sun, partial shade).

Roof Assessment

• Roof Access Points

  Identify safe access points to the roof.

• Roof Load Capacity

  Assess the load-bearing capacity of the roof.

• Roof Penetrations

  Note any existing roof penetrations and potential new ones.

• Water Drainage

  Evaluate water drainage patterns to ensure they won’t affect the installation.

• Attic Space Inspection

  Inspect the attic space for additional structural assessment.

Environmental and Safety Considerations

• Wind Load Consideration

  Assess the site for wind load factors.

• Seismic Considerations

  Evaluate seismic considerations based on the location.

• Fire Code Compliance

  Ensure the installation complies with local fire codes.

• Safety Hazards

  Identify any potential safety hazards (e.g., power lines, hazardous materials).

Documentation and Photos

• Site Photos

  Take and attach photos of the site, including roof conditions, shading obstructions, and the main service panel.

• Site Sketch

  Create a site sketch showing proposed panel locations, electrical routing, and shading obstructions.

• Permits and Zoning

  Record any permits or zoning requirements.

• Notes and Observations

  Add any additional notes or observations relevant to the installation.

 

5.

Set Up Reminders and Assign Tasks

• Use eAuditor Audits & Inspections’s scheduling feature to set reminders for when the survey needs to be conducted.
• Assign specific sections of the checklist to different team members if necessary.

6.

Conduct the Survey

• As you perform the survey, use the checklist to ensure all areas are covered.
• Mark each item as complete or incomplete.
• Use eAuditor Audits & Inspections’s note and photo functions to document conditions in detail.

7.

Review and Finalize

• Review the completed checklist for accuracy.
• Make any necessary adjustments or add notes for follow-up actions.

8.

Export and Share Reports

• Export the completed checklist as a PDF or other format.
• Share the report with stakeholders, such as clients, installation teams, or project managers.

9.

Backup and Store

• Save the checklist in eAuditor Audits & Inspections’s cloud storage for future reference.
• Organize your checklists and reports by client or project name for easy retrieval.
